TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR PEOPLE’S PENSION TRUST’S MOBILE APPLICATION AND WEB PORTAL

 

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) pertain to the use of our website, Member Portal and People’s Pension Mobile App (collectively referred to herein as “Portal”) designed by Alias Solutions Ltd for People’s Pension Trust Ghana (herein referred to as “People’s Pension”, “we”, “us”, “our”) which has been licensed by the National Pension Regulatory Authority (NPRA) since 2016. These Terms apply to a member’s (herein referred to as “you”, “your”) use of this Portal and by using this Portal you expressly accept all terms and conditions contained herein in full. Please read these Terms carefully, and contact us in case of any questions. All rights and responsibilities of members in the scheme shall be subject to these Terms and they may be revised, updated, or replaced from time to time. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ghana.


  • Registration:

1.1. Every first-time user of the Portal will be required to create an account by going through our online registration process.

1.2. Any account created via the online portal or mobile app will automatically be assumed to be a People’s Pension Trust (PPT) Personal Pension Scheme account and will be subject to the guidelines as stipulated on our website and directed by the National Pensions Act of 2008, Act 766  with amendments stipulated here. You will however be able to access the details of your other scheme accounts i.e. PPT Provident Fund Scheme; PPT Occupational Pension Scheme; or PPT TUC UNIWA Scheme; which are subject to scheme-specific guidelines as stated on our website and regulations as stipulated in the National Pension Act 2008, Act 766 with amendments stipulated here.

1.3. You are expected to create a 4-digit pin (the PIN) upon registration which will serve as your access to your pension account at any point in time. It is your responsibility to safeguard this PIN. Under no circumstances should this PIN be written, typed, or shared with any other member or employee of People’s Pension. 

1.4. You must notify People’s Pension at any point if you suspect that the confidentiality of your PIN has been breached in any way.

1.5. You hereby affirm that all personal information provided at the point of registration is accurate to the best of your knowledge.


  • Communications via these Services:

2.1. All communications concerning registration, deposits, and withdrawal will be done through the phone number and email provided at the point of registration. 

2.2. People’s Pension reserves the right to send information to you via SMS or email to the phone number and email address respectively supplied upon registration. These SMS messages and emails shall be for informational purposes only.

  • Intellectual Property:

All materials, products, and services provided are the property of People’s Pension. You agree that no material on this medium may be copied, displayed, modified, reproduced, stored in a retrieval system, transmitted (in any form or medium), distributed, or used for creating derivative works or for commercial or public purposes except to access the services for your personal use or as allowed by us.


  • Liability:

4.1. People’s Pension makes no warranty, implied or expressed, that any part of the Portal will be uninterrupted and error-free.  

4.2. Neither People’s Pension nor any of its directors, employees, agents, or suppliers shall accept any responsibility for any damage, loss, injury, or disappointment suffered by any member for using the Portal. Using the Portal will be at the risk of the member.

4.3. We will not bear any liability for any losses caused as a result of anything that is outside our reasonable control.


  • Data Security:

People’s Pension will take every precautionary measure to ensure the safety of your data held by us. 

The collection, storage, use, and disclosure of Personal Data on the Portal shall be governed by the People’s Pension Data Privacy Policy.

We do not however have control over the internet and devices used to access our services. Should you provide your personal information to us via email, you accept the risk that it may be intercepted by third parties. We shall not be liable for any breach of confidence  nor for any damage, loss, or expense which may be incurred in such cases.


  • Suspension and Termination of the Services:

6.1. We may terminate your access to and use of our Portal whenever deemed necessary. We will notify you as soon as necessary of such instances should they.

6.2. You may terminate your right to use our services and the Portal by giving us notice in the form of writing.

6.3. We will continue to keep your information for as long as is permitted under the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) upon closure of your account.


  • Revision and Updates:

7.1. You agree that we may automatically update our applications and that these terms apply to such updates.

7.2. You agree that we may revise these Terms at any time as we see fit and by agreeing to these Terms you agree to review such Terms regularly to ensure you understand them.
