People’s Pension Trust is a company licensed by the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA), Ghana, to provide trustee services for the Ghanaian workforce, particularly, those in the informal sector.
People’s Pension Trust Ghana Limited last Friday picked up two awards at the 2nd edition of the Ghana Accountancy and Finance Awards (GAF Awards). The company won “Best Corporate Trustee-Informal Sector” and “Best Corporate Trustee-Education and Sensitization” beating competition from several industry veterans.
Speaking on the awards, Chief Executive Officer of People’s Pension Trust, Samuel Waterberg said, “it is significant that we have received these two awards as the company aims to be recognized as the organization that successfully reduces old-age poverty by providing 500,000 Ghanaians, particularly, informal sector workers with a pension cover in the next five years.”
He added, it will spur the company on to innovate and develop its processes to increase accessibility and ensure the safety and security of funds. He thanked clients for believing in themselves enough to sign onto the scheme thus ensuring they have an enjoyable retirement.
He further urged them to be consistent in their savings as well as be worthy ambassadors of the brand by encouraging people in their network to also get on board.
The company was also adjudged the Pension Company of the Year at the Ghana Business Awards held a few weeks earlier. This therefore brings to three the total awards picked up so far by the company since its entry onto the Ghanaian pension landscape two years ago.
The company provides trustee services under both Tier 2 and 3 schemes and is focused on offering flexible and innovative pension products for both formal and informal sector workers in the country.
